Hi, I'm Deanne. I am pursuing an MFA in Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, where I am honing my Visual Research and Graphic Journalism skills. Before this, I pursued a liberal arts degree focusing on Sociology, which has deeply informed my critical response to sociocultural narratives in my visual work. As a visual storyteller, I am passionate about exploring the complexities of trauma in the modern world through fictitious worldbuilding. My writing often touches upon the intersection of art and social justice. At RISD, I have worked across various mediums, including installations, sound illustrations, and paintings. Currently, I am creating a fictitious world of letter people and artist books that challenge the traditional linearity of narrative. My passion for storytelling is rooted in my fascination with cultural narratives. One of my secret wishes is to become a travel journalist, illustrating the diverse cuisines of cultures worldwide
